  in a recent post ffghost made a comment about how they're always inserting modern concepts into biblical narratives to make it relatable to jw's organization.

  here are some that come to mind:.

  - the capitalized term "governing body" when referring to the older men in jerusalem (really just another group of christians that paul outspokenly disagreed with and didn't look to for approval).

  GB Says You Can Fellowship Without Being Reinstated

  there is another way to fellowship with your loved ones after disagreeing with the wt besides getting reinstated.

  all you have to do is fling yourself off a boat and start drowning, says watchtower:.

  I am under the impression the state collects tithes from the public. So I can designate my religion and that portion of my taxes go there. So this would no longer be done.

  I am USA so there us a line item for charity. Be it a church, goodwill, St. Jude. Of course most of us working people get the blanket deduction instead under Trumps rewrite.

  Aside: two friends complained about about losing itemized deductions. Poor them. I have never gotten it through their thick skulls that if ( for example) your deductions add up to 6000, the directions say to write in 10000 anyway. In my case the deductions add up to 1500 and I still write in 10000.

  Why is it when one person attack you on a forum thread eveyone likes to pile on?

  i have noticed this on many many forums.

  so i don't have this forum in mind for this topic.

  so you may have noticed this also, but many times on threads once someone does an attack or a negative comment about someone, or the way they write or anything else on the thread, everyone else seems to just pile on by reaction not thought.

  Sometimes it is a response to a troll, others it is trolls. Moderators shouid freeze or delete comments, ban some posters but dont

  Never is anything constructive gained by the name calling or insults and certainly it closes any chance to learn.

  Prov 18:1. The upper echelons are certainly isolated from real life and seek power and reject common sense.

  As for zoom, it is a poor substitute for real interaction. Loud unintelligible conversation, mis focused and aimed cameras, break rooms without your interests being discussed. Meanwhile the world is working, going to stores, eating out, visiting. while true believers are under the bed sucking their thumb waiting for everyone to die.

  Right. Slave only has a meaning for in ones, short for the faithful discreet slave class. Watchtower and Jehovah s witnesses are best under stood by the world.

  The governing body and branch are mixed up by most. The ocho locos vs. the corporation that runs a particular country or region.

  Hall (building) is often used to mean congregation ( a group that usually shares a hall).

  I think they have used capitols, small case, one word, two to cover all bases for copyright. There are lots of corporations

  New WT on "Hate" is actually a little bit based

  the new public wt on hate, especially racial hate just came out and seeing as how left-leaning the org is in regards to so many non-sexual things (like mandates and lockdowns, guns, war, patriotism, freedom of thought and speech, climate change, etc.

  ) i was fully expecting the magazine to lean into the media lies of black victimhood, etc.

  however was pleasantly surprised to see a few valid thoughts, such as this opening image of everything seemingly being blamed on the white man.. .
